Who Doesn't LOVE Chocolate?

Thursday, September 6, 2007

Okay, so I don't really love chocolate but I LOVE food festivals! But, if you love chocolate, I highly recommend you check out the Ghirardelli Chocolate Festival in San Francisco this weekend, Sept. 8th and 9th.

I went last year and it was a total blast! There's an ice cream eating contest and chef's demos, including a cupcake decorating demo from Kara's Cupcakes, YUM! More importantly, there are lots of chocolate truffles, candies, cookies and cakes to sample as well as savory treats in case your sweet tooth starts to ache.

Hope to see you there!

We're Stuffed!

Sunday, September 2, 2007

Just got back from the Millbrae festival and what can I say - greasy, guilty eats and alcohol are a perfect combo! They had everything from the standard hot dog and frozen lemonade, to gyros, crab garlic fries, French crepes and Chinese chicken and beef skewers. Check out the huge smoked turkey leg that my friend attempted to devour. Here are a few snapshots.

Millbrae Art & Wine Festival 2007

It's Sunday and to continue our holiday weekend vacation at home in the Bay Area, I'm going to check out the Millbrae Art & Wine Festival with my babe and some friends. There's going to be delicious food and wine (yay!) as well as live music, arts and crafts. The weather's still amazing and it's going to be a blast so check it out if you can.

Foodie Review: Pompei's Grotto

Saturday, September 1, 2007

As you will soon find out, I love food and consider myself an amateur foodie, and I enjoy posting reviews for all to read.

During our stroll today through San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf, we stopped for a quick bite at Pompei's Grotto on Jackson Street. It was late in the afternoon but we still got to take advantage of the lunch menu (gotta love the discounts!). Walking through, watching the bread demonstrations at Boudin's megastore on The Wharf, I had a craving for clam chowder and ordered it in a bread bowl (good enough to satisfy my appetite). My beau had the crab cake sandwich on sourdough that came with a (Yummy!) cabbage slaw - delish! I highly recommend dining here - the atmosphere is unpretentious and not too touristy for the area. The outside dining area on a nice day is great for people watching too.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Enjoy San Francisco

For those of you not travelling out of town this holiday weekend, I highly suggest you take advantage of the beautiful weather we're having in San Francisco. I just came back from a long walk from Fort Mason to the Ferry Building and it was gorgeous! Discover your own mini vacation with all the great views our city has to offer with something as simple as a walking tour to soak it all in.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!
